There’s a permanent population that everybody knows A permanent way to greet someone from his hair down to his toes There’s a permanent way to smile, and a permanent way to laugh And everybody knows they’re coming back There’s a permanent population that everybody sees A permanent way to see the sun coming down between the leaves There’s a permanent way to love, and a permanent way to die But everybody knows it’s not their time There’s a permanent permutation on which we all agree A permanent way to be the man that we all want to be There’s a permanent way to walk, and a permanent way to cry And nobody will notice that we’ve died Woah Everybody wants to know It’s a permanent situation for our society A permanent way to preserve proper neural-chemistry A permanent way to think and a permanent way to know The problem is not everybody knows How do we choose the people who should know? There’s a permanent salutation that we’re all forced to make There’s a permanent pressure on our backs causing some of us to break There’s a permanent way to “Oh!” and a permanent way to “No!” The problem is not everybody flows How do we choose the people who should flow? Woah Everybody wants to know There’s a permanent population that everybody knows There’s a permanent way to greet someone from his hair down to his toes There’s a permanent way to smile, and a permanent way to laugh And everybody knows they’re coming back And everybody knows they’re coming back And everybody knows they’re coming back

When you wake up in life You’re given a motion, an ocean, emotions are yours now to feel And you can invite them all in your door Sit at my table, you’re able, to stable yourselves through your ears And then we can listen, like we’re human beings Then hopefully, woefully, so slowly we’ll start to learn But I did circles round normalcy And I tried to change Earth for the better And I saw things that one should never see And, yeah it’s all because of me Grown: how I see myself But it’s my ego, let me go, I’m free, no, I want to myself I can’t relate, don’t know what you mean It’s easy just watch me, now please be the same that I am Why don’t you leave, let me sit in peace Is that not what you want, what I want, and they want for everyone here But I did circles round normalcy And I tried to change Earth for the better And I saw things that one should never see And, yeah it’s all because of me But I did circles round normalcy And I tried to change Earth for the better And I saw things that one should never see And, yeah it’s all because of me And, yeah it’s all because of me And, yeah it’s all because of me

All day long I dream, Of laying my weary bones down And I fall undead, indeed, I feel like I’m going to drown All that I know is I can’t get relief When I subject myself to this monstrous heat Oh how I long for a cool place to sleep A bed where my body won’t stick to the sheets I don’t need the Ritz but I don’t want to sweat Wake up with my pillow showing my silhouette So now I stir, awake, Doomed just to stay aware My skin turns slick and my head starts to ache With sleep I have this strange affair All that I know is I can’t get relief When I subject myself to this monstrous heat Oh how I long for a cool place to sleep A bed where my body won’t stick to the sheets I don’t need the Ritz but I don’t want to sweat Wake up with my pillow holding my silhouette What would it be like to wake up in a world where we were All tempered right Everybody everywhere would have a good night Oh how I long for a cool place to sleep A bed where my body won’t stick to the sheets I don’t need the Ritz but I don’t want to sweat Wake up with my pillow showing my silhouette

No you’re not making angels with your lies, with your lies No you’re not making saviors in my mind, in my mind And all the while you think you’re working It’s death defying circle jerking I will rise above and overcome, overcome The insanity that you propose It’s a constant falsehood overload I’m grasping tight to everything I know To call it out like I see it I’m afraid, I’m afraid Leave it alone and let you mean it is not OK, is not OK So all of my homegrown frustration Stems from your mind’s masturbation Ideology is my best friend, best friend Dissonance that’s in cognition Won’t suffice for this musician I get a little wearier each day Hold me closer now to the window pane I want to see again, once more Open up the glass I want to feel the rain On my face before the clouds are gone So all of my homegrown frustration Stems from your mind’s masturbation Ideology is my best friend, best friend Dissonance that’s in cognition Won’t suffice for this musician I get a little wearier each day Hold me closer now to the window pane Open up the glass I want to feel the rain No you’re not making angels with your lies, with your lies No you’re not making saviors in my mind, in my mind And all the while you think you’re working It’s death defying circle jerking I will rise above and overcome, overcome The insanity that you propose It’s a constant falsehood overload I’m grasping tight to everything I know I’m grasping tight to everything I know I’m grasping tight to everything I know

I wanna live in an American Dream Where everybody lives compassionately Help your neighbor, helps those in need I wanna live in an American Dream Where everybody values honesty From the way bottom, to the top of the tree But we can’t agree when there’s falsehoods all around If you look in the streets there’s hatred in the ground There’s hatred in the ground that we’re standing on But it’s not crazy if you say it out loud That everybody should be thriving and proud But we can’t get there if we’re all fast asleep We gotta wake up and take up the cause for this American Dream I wanna live in an American Dream Where we can all think reflectively Not I am better, But how can I be? I wanna live in an American Dream Where everybody acts persistently Don’t get it two times? Then try it three Try with me... Admitting defeat is the easy way to get out Reality disregarded in place of greed We’re filled to the brim with greed But it’s not crazy if you say it out loud That everybody should be thriving and proud But we can’t get there if we’re all fast asleep We gotta wake up and take up the cause for this American Dream
